Public Site Image Reloads
As of Fall 2018, Automatic reloads, aka refreshes, of public site computers (including instructors stations) are performed between terms and as needed for critical security patches.
Full disk reloads may be initiated on any LTS public site computer, at any time, and by anyone simply by selecting the Refresh option from the boot menu. This reload will restore the computer to a working state with commonly used applications installed. This menu is displayed for a 5 second period at the beginning of the boot process. Once initiated, the refresh process will typically take between 20 and 60 minutes depending on the size of the image and the speed of the network at that particular location. Following the clone phase, the computer will reboot and run a procedure (about 5-10 minutes) to adjust for the hardware at that location and join the campus Active Directory, followed by a final reboot after which time it becomes available for use by any Lehigh user.
