Public Site Refresh Schedule
Automatic reloads, aka refreshes, of public site computers are performed to ensure that updates are applied regularly and computers function properly. Full disk reloads may be initiated on any LTS public site computer, at any time, and by anyone simply by selecting the Refresh option from the boot menu. This menu is displayed for a 5 second period at the beginning of the boot process. Once initiated, the refresh process will typically take 20-60 minutes depending on the size of the image and the speed of the network at that particular location. Following the clone phase, the computer will reboot and run a procedure (about 5-10 minutes) to adjust for the hardware at that location and join the campus Active Directory, followed by a final reboot after which time it becomes available for use by any Lehigh user.
Instructor stations, typically those with a projection system attached, are automatically refreshed during breaks in the academic schedule. All other public site computers become eligible for refresh once 14 days have passed since the last refresh.
